How to Apply
Application Requirements and Procedures
Students applying to the MA Program in Applied Linguistics must have a bachelor's degree with a 3.0 average or better. They should have at least two years at college level of a second language. They should also have demonstrated interest in a field of applied linguistics that is served by UAF. The application consists of:
- UAF graduate school application
- Transcripts
- 3 letters of reference
- A personal statement that demonstrates why the program is right for the student
- Resume/Vite
Students should apply to the Linguistics Program via the admissions website (see link above) and send all materials to Graduate Admissions. However, students are encouraged to send a copy of the completed application directly to the linguistics program for tracking purposes.
Applications are due March 15. It is the responsibility of the student to make sure that the application is complete.
