鶹 Fairbanks Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning is hosting more than 40 free lectures, concerts and events this summer.
Here’s what’s happening during the week of July 22-28:
- On Monday, July 22, the Fairbanks Tall Timbers interview series honors Susan Henrichs, UAF provost emerita and retired professor of chemical oceanography. The interview is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater, located on the fourth floor of the Usibelli Building.
- On Tuesday, July 23, the Healthy Living lecture series will host Ruth Carson, physical therapist, discussing “Movement Magic: Aging Joints and What We Can Do.” The talk is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
- On Wednesday, July 24, the Discover Alaska lecture series will feature Knut Kielland, professor of ecology at the Institute of Arctic Biology, discussing “Herbivores and the Structure and Function of Alaska’s Boreal Forests.” The lecture is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
- On Thursday, July 25, the Music in the Garden concert series will feature Muskie Pines at 6 p.m. and South Cushman Social Club at 7:30 p.m. at the Georgeson Botanical Garden.
All events are free and open to the public. Parking on the UAF Troth Yeddha’ Campus is free after 5 p.m.
