Project Title: Sensor Technology for Alaska Rural communities Targeting Remote Atmospheric
Monitoring (STARTRAM)
This project aims to evaluate a wide range of atmospheric sensors for remote deployment in the Alaskan climate and their application as educational tools for Teaching Through Technology (T3)’s network of high school sites in rural Alaskan communities.

Project Title: Qualitative assessment of Health Provider and Community Member Perspectives
of Perinatal Nutrition Â鶹¹ÙÍø Needs in Alaska
Supporting the development of the Alaska Lactation and Perinatal Nutrition (ALPeN) Community Advisory Board (CAB), this project will utilize qualitative assessment of Community Members versus Health Professionals to understand priorities and perspectives among groups. These data are important for an equitable foundation and scaffolding of the ALPeN CAB.

Project Title: Powering and Unifying Long-range Sensor Ecosystems (PULSE)
This project aims to evaluate data transmission and remote power systems methods for field deployment of remote sensors in rural Alaska. Emphasis is placed on evaluating the feasibility of these systems as educational resources for high school students.
URSA CEL Awards are are open to undergraduate students, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, research staff, and faculty applicants each fall. This award offers funding up to $5,000 to work with a community partner to explore a community need or problem through research or scholarly activity.
