In-person food preservation classes offered in Anchorage

Leif Albertson will teach a series of in-person, hands-on classes on food preservation this summer. 

Albertson is a member of the health, home and family development faculty at the University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service. 

Each class is scheduled on a Tuesday, from 6-9 p.m. July 19 will cover canning fish; Aug. 9 focuses on pickling vegetables; and the Aug. 23 class covers preserving meat, poultry and game. Everything necessary for the classes will be provided and students will take home a jar of prepared food at the end of every class.
