CTC automotive program receives ASE reaccreditation

The 鶹 Fairbanks Community and Technical College automotive training program has earned reaccreditation from the ASE Education Foundation in Maintenance and Light Repair.
To achieve this recognition, UAF CTC underwent a rigorous evaluation process by the ASE Education Foundation, which assessed the program’s instruction, facilities and equipment against nationally accepted industry standards.
“This is great news for automotive-minded young people and their parents,” said ASE Education Foundation President Michael Coley. “This program increases cooperation between local education and industry leaders, ensuring UAF CTC graduates are employable as entry-level technicians. As a result of the quality education provided by UAF CTC, the motoring public will benefit since better repair technicians will continue to join the automotive industry workforce.”
The ASE Education Foundation is a nonprofit organization that accredits entry-level technician training programs based on industry-developed standards.
“Over the past few months, we’ve worked closely with the ASE Education Foundation to ensure our program meets these stringent industry standards,” said Shawn Conell, associate professor and automotive department head at UAF CTC. “We are proud to continue as an ASE-accredited training program. This accreditation assures students of a quality education and gives shop owners confidence in hiring skilled graduates.”
