Apply for the Dalton Highway Artist-in-Residence
Toolik Field Station invites visual, auditory, or performing artists and writers to apply for the 2023 Dalton Highway Artist-in-Residence program.
The selected artist will have five to seven days to travel the Dalton Highway, speak with land managers and research scientists and pursue their artistic discipline amid the varied landscapes of Arctic Alaska. Residencies can take place any time between June and September 2023.
The residency is offered in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management Alaska.
Depending on the artist’s interests and outdoor experience, they will be hosted at one of the Bureau of Land Management’s cabins or campgrounds, at Toolik Field Station, or at a remote backcountry location. Residency support includes transportation from Fairbanks to the residency location, housing, safety equipment, and if at Toolik, meals. The selected artist is responsible for travel to Fairbanks.
Applications are due March 24, 2023. More information, including how to apply, is available on the .
