EPSCoR survey for NSF GRANTED collaboration
Â鶹¹ÙÍøers at the Â鶹¹ÙÍø know that undertaking research at a university disconnected from the continental United States poses many unique challenges, such as isolation, lack of resources, and difficulty attracting, cultivating and retaining talent.
The Alaska Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Â鶹¹ÙÍø invites University of Alaska faculty, staff and students to complete a 15-minute on their experiences of working and studying at a remote university and ideas on addressing challenges.
This survey serves as the first step of a collaborative effort to develop strategies for overcoming these barriers. Survey results will guide the direction of an endeavor orchestrated by a partnership between the Alaska EPSCoR and fellow remotely-located EPSCoR units at the University of the Virgin Islands, the University of Hawai’i, the University of Puerto Rico and the University of Guam.
Together they received an award from the National Science Foundation’s (NSF GRANTED) program, which provides funding opportunities to strengthen institutional support systems at emerging research institutions.
