Compliance

The UAF chancellor is authorized by the and the UA  to implement rules and procedures as necessary to, among other things, promote operational efficiency, support the university’s mission and reduce operational risks. A UAF policy must comply with UA Board of Regents’ policies and university regulations. In the event they would ever conflict, the order of priority is: , university regulations, UAF policies.

Animals, except for service animals, are not permitted in UAF buildings without prior approval or permission as an accommodation for a documented disability. UAF welcomes individuals and their animals to access land owned by the university in a safe and respectful manner that complies with university rules and regulations. Animals must behave in a way that does not cause disruption or damage to the property or other users. Cleanup of any waste material is expected immediately. The UAF core safety values are:

  • Safety is the responsibility of everyone.
  • UAF employees, students and volunteers give priority to personal safety and the safety of others.
  • UAF employees, students and volunteers are vigilant in identifying, correcting and reporting health or safety hazards.
  • Completing required safety training is essential.
  • UAF employees believe that work-related injuries and illnesses are preventable.

The Â鶹¹ÙÍø Fairbanks, as part of its mission, promotes and engages in many programs, events and activities that involve minors throughout all of its campuses. Protection and safety of minors is of the highest priority for UAF and its departments. The purpose of this policy is to provide protection of minors engaged in programs, events and activities provided or endorsed by UAF. See Protection of Minors Policy.

Serving alcohol beverages at events on campus, or at UAF events located off-campus, requires compliance with state laws and sensitivity to the public's perception of our institution. It is the University's desire to provide a safe and secure environment for all faculty, staff, students, and visitors attending UAF events. All persons who consume alcohol beverages will do so in a responsible manner. See Alcohol Beverage Policy.

Persons who have reached the statutory  drinking age are permitted to possess and consume alcoholic beverages on university campuses as provided by applicable university  regulation, campus procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations.

P05.12.104. Marijuana and Other Illegal Substances.

Possession or use of marijuana or any other  substance controlled pursuant to 21  U.S.C. 841  et seq. anywhere on university property is prohibited. Violations of this policy will result in disciplinary action, as provided by applicable university regulation, campus procedures, and  all applicable laws and regulations.

Except as provided herein, no alcohol, marijuana or other intoxicants may be present or consumed during or at the site of UAF-related field activities, including both course or research activities that occur beyond UAF campuses. See Alcohol and Intoxicants-Field Policy.
