Writing and Tutoring

The writing team at Interior Alaska Campus provides students with the education and support they need to succeed in their courses and future careers.

Our program at IAC teaches courses that satisfy general education requirements and that also provide opportunities for students to develop their skills as writers. Our curriculum focuses on indigenous literature, and our faculty and staff have a wealth of experience working with rural students. The IAC writing team believes in encouraging rural students to connect their studies with their cultural heritage.

Writing tutoring is available by appointment.

Student Testimonials

Picture of Tatiana Kiarcimalria AndrewQuyana! (Thank you) for a wonderful class experience. I’ve gained confidence in my writing, and your support aided in my understanding of grammatical structure. I especially enjoyed the group outline exercises we did in order to help define our stories.Tatiana Kiarcimalria Andrew

Picture of Jennifer HillI was nervous about taking English, but I quickly learned I had nothing to worry about. Katie Lubowicki & Chris Miles are wonderful! They were helpful every step of the way! All of the lessons were engaging and useful. They were both very patient and helpful with every student. I would highly recommend both of them to anyone interested in taking an English class.Jennifer Hill
Picture of Shannon KlescewskiWe took a week-long intensive class. The instructor and assistant did the class in a manner that I did not get overwhelmed. And the assistant was very helpful and was on site and stayed with the class at every session. I most importantly loved how they incorporated the Alaska native short stories into the class. This class definitely will help with my essay papers. Shannon Klescewski
