Why Dual Enroll Through Alaska Advantage at the Â鶹¹ÙÍø Fairbanks?

In the Alaska Advantage program, high school students can take online courses offered by the Â鶹¹ÙÍø Fairbanks (UAF) and Â鶹¹ÙÍø Southeast (UAS). You can take just one class or enroll as a full-time student.

Through the program, students earn both high school and college credit. These credits are accepted in the Â鶹¹ÙÍø system but can also be transferred to other colleges and universities.

Most of our dual enrollment students take classes that count toward University of Alaska Fairbanks majors and minors. Many students also take career and technical education (CTE) classes, working toward an occupational endorsement or certificate.

How to get started in Alaska Advantage

The first step is to talk with your parents and your high school counselor. They are some of your best resources for guidance and support as you start to plan for college. Next, you’ll want to explore Â鶹¹ÙÍø online course options. We are happy to help with your course selection and to understand how your credits will count toward high school and college.

Depending on where you are in your education and what types of courses you plan to take, you may need to take additional steps to get started — such as completing placement exams or submitting a dual enrollment application for new UAF students.
