Ms. Hild Peters
Executive Officer, Emeritus
WHEREAS Ms. Hild Peters served the Â鶹¹ÙÍø Fairbanks with distinction in administration and service in multiple roles from 1990 to 2023; and
WHEREAS Ms. Peters worked for more than two decades in the Office of the Provost, after which she served sixteen years as executive officer with the College of Natural Science and Mathematics; and
WHEREAS Ms. Peters offered her thoughtful, knowledgeable guidance to everyone from provosts to students; and her work was timely and of high quality, and she eagerly took on new initiatives; and, while with the provost, she was instrumental in forming policies related to faculty services; and, as the college’s executive officer, she supervised staff across several departments and disciplines, managed the multimillion-dollar budget, acted as development officer and served as a key advisor to several deans; and
WHEREAS Ms. Peters, who earned a master’s in Northern studies and history in 2014, has volunteered as a board member with multiple community organizations, including the Tanana-Yukon Historical Society;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Â鶹¹ÙÍø Fairbanks expresses its deep appreciation to Ms. Hild Peters for her extensive contributions to the state of Alaska and to the university; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Â鶹¹ÙÍø Fairbanks, in further recognition of the invaluable services rendered by Ms. Peters and as evidence of the university’s desire that her identification with the university be maintained, hereby confers upon Ms. Hild Peters the title of executive officer, emeritus; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be appropriately engrossed and signed by the chancellor as further evidence of the Â鶹¹ÙÍø Fairbanks’ esteem and respect for Ms. Hild Peters, and conveyed to Ms. Peters on this third day of May, 2024.
