Ms. Paula Cullenberg

Professor of Marine Science Extension and Director of Alaska Sea Grant College Program, Emerita

WHEREAS Ms. Paula J. Cullenberg served the Â鶹¹ÙÍø Fairbanks with distinction in teaching and public service from 2002 to 2018, and as Director of the Alaska Sea Grant College Program from 2013 to 2018; and WHEREAS Ms. Cullenberg ably served as a Fisheries Extension Educator in Dillingham, assisting 32 villages in that region, and later as a statewide Community Development Specialist; and

WHEREAS Ms. Cullenberg was a dynamic leader of Alaska’s Marine Advisory Program, securing funding from a wide variety of federal, state and regional sources and enabling delivery of science outreach and professional development opportunities to coastal communities around the state; and

WHEREAS Ms. Cullenberg was co-lead of the Â鶹¹ÙÍø Fisheries, Seafood and Maritime Initiative, identifying and developing strategies to meet training needs for the coastal maritime workforce;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Â鶹¹ÙÍø Fairbanks expresses its deep appreciation to Ms. Paula J. Cullenberg for her extensive contributions to the State of Alaska and to the University; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Â鶹¹ÙÍø Fairbanks, in further recognition of the invaluable services rendered by Ms. Cullenberg and as evidence of the University’s desire that her identification with the University be maintained, hereby salutes the appointment of Ms. Paula J. Cullenberg as Professor of Marine Science Extension and Director of Alaska Sea Grant College Program, Emerita; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be appropriately engrossed and signed by the Chancellor of the Â鶹¹ÙÍø Fairbanks as further evidence of the esteem and respect in which he holds Ms. Paula J. Cullenberg, and conveyed to Ms. Cullenberg on this 4th day of May, 2018.
