RESEARCH INTERESTS AND AREAL EXPERTISE:

Arctic paleoecology, palynology, vegetation history, and ecosystem reponses to climate change during the Quaternary period.  Human-landscape interactions especially the local landscape as people would have experienced it.

CURRENT RESEARCH:

  • Landscape and vegetation change in interior Alaska after about 14,000 years ago.
  • Landscape and vegetation change in the Alaska Range.
  • Vegetation change in the western Aleutians.
  • Landscape change, middle and upper Susitna drainage.
